One of the most creative options that you could use for your event is a custom drone light show. There are many components that go into creating one of these magnificent spectacles, but every single show is different from the next. From ideation to show day, there has to be a delicate balance between every element of a drone light show. From the technical side of things to the creative side of things, hard work from the whole team comes together in the one thing you want to achieve – telling a story.
We work to create a compelling experience that brings your story to life. It takes a massive effort to ensure that the experience is creative and we work hard to cover all technical aspects. When we have your idea in place, we pull together writing, music, storyboarding, location scouting, 3-D visualization, animation and even more to make it happen. All of these things bring your custom drone light show to life – and all of these things are there to impress your audience.
Ideation Process for Drone Shows
When you bring your idea to ask, we want to help you to visualize it before we get it into the sky. Writing isn’t always needed when it comes to our process but when it is needed, it’s one of the important elements of your entire experience. The words that you want to use in your custom idea help to underpin the entire visual experience. The right words can bring your idea to life along with the animations and pictures that go up into the sky. Along with writing, music can enhance almost any visual experience with your idea. When you want to put this experience together, pairing lights and music can draw the eye, excite the senses and help get your message across. What ideas for music do you have for your drone light show? As you know, music can evoke certain emotions in your audience. The right music will help people to remember what you’re trying to display. When you use the correct soundtrack, people will remember your light show when they hear similar music. Your drone light show could be an emotional experience for your audience and you want to connect those positive emotions with positive memories of what your brand is trying to say.
Animation in the Sky
The next – and possibly most exciting – part of the light show is the animation. Animation is where we can really push the boundaries of creativity. Custom drone shows can be huge in scale, this means the possibilities are pretty limitless when it comes to animation and visuals. The choices that you make with your art and motion will all be based on the story that your brand wants to tell in its message. All of the key details are right here in the design and this is what will inspire people when they see the show in the sky. We pull together the minds and ideas of talented creators to be able to collaborate on and inspire the designs that you’ve brought to the table. Then we make your vision come to life in the sky above you.
Each of these ideas is put in place on a storyboard before we introduce 3-D visualization and animation. We bring the vision of your idea to reality this way. When the whole show is mapped out we can then translate the ideas onto high-tech 3-D software and watch it come to life. This part of the process takes some time, but it brings together the creativity and the technical side of the experience, so you can see what it will look like for your event. We can animate your light show from any angle and make it any size, so your audience can appreciate it from start to finish.
Flight Test
When the animation is set up and ready for you, the next thing you have to consider is where the drones will fly. All drone events have to be timed to perfection so that nothing goes wrong during the actual show. All drones have to be on the correct flight pattern which requires a flight test to ensure this ahead of time.
Finding the perfect location for your show is a big part of the puzzle. The location acts as a canvas for your brand to be displayed on. Organizing the flight test is vital, because when you’re on location with hundreds of drones and a full display to accomplish, it tends to require a large team of people to ensure perfection before takeoff, during the show, and landing. Every single consideration is made, including the weather.
